While Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan have reiterated their desire to keep star striker Romelu Lukaku beyond this summer after confirming that he is their most important and most valuable asset, English Premier League side Chelsea have continued to remain insistent and determined that they still want to push for a move for their former player. The Blues are keen to sign a lethal striker this summer especially after allowing Olivier Giroud to leave the club and join AC Milan some days ago, leaving them with only Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham as just the two senior striker options manager Thomas Tuchel has at his disposal.
The Blues reportedly tabled an opening offer to Inter Milan some days ago for Lukaku but it was rejected by the Italian club. The offer was reported to be a €100 million bid which saw them include defender Marcos Alonso in the package. However, Inter insisted that they want an only-cash offer as they look to come out of the current financial crisis they are in at the moment.
The London club are expected to return with another bid for Lukaku in the coming days and the striker is said to have asked Inter Milan to accept the bid. The Belgian striker is said to be keen to return to Stamford Bridge to prove his doubters wrong.
